Privacy Policy

This policy covers what FruitFarming.org collects when you visit, why, who else receives it, and what you can ask us to do about it.

It’s written in plain English. If anything is unclear, email contact@fruitfarming.org and we’ll explain.

Who we are

FruitFarming.org is operated by Jummas Organic Fruits Farm. In this policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” mean Jummas Organic Fruits Farm.

Questions about this policy or your data go to contact@fruitfarming.org.

The basics

You can read every guide without telling us who you are. There are no accounts or sign-ups, and we don’t sell data to anyone.

Most of what we collect happens automatically: server logs and analytics showing which guides get read. If you click an affiliate link, the retailer sets its own cookie.

Information you choose to send

Email. When you write to us, we receive your address and your message, and we use them only to reply.

Comments. If a guide has comments open and you post one, we receive the name and email address you enter and the comment itself. Your email address is never published.

Newsletter. We don’t have one yet. If we start one, we’ll keep subscribers’ email addresses, and every issue will include a one-click way to leave.

Information collected automatically

Server logs. Our server records each request: IP address, browser type, the page requested, the page that linked to it, and the time. Logs keep the site running and help us spot abuse.

Analytics. Analytics show which guides people read, how they find them, and where they stop reading. We look at totals and trends, not at individual visitors.

Cookies. See the section below.

What we don’t collect

We don’t ask for your name, address, or phone number. We take no payments, so we hold no payment details.

We don’t ask where your land is, what you grow, or how big your planting is. If you mention it in an email, we use it only to answer you.

We don’t build advertising profiles, and we don’t sell or rent data.

Cookies

The site uses three kinds of cookies.

Necessary cookies keep small features working, such as remembering that you dismissed a notice. They hold no personal details.

Analytics cookies tell us which guides are useful and which ones readers leave early.

Affiliate cookies are set by a retailer when you click a product link, so it can credit the referral if you buy. They belong to the retailer and follow its privacy policy.

We don’t use advertising cookies that track you across other sites.

Controlling cookies

Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies in its settings. Blocking necessary cookies may break small features. Blocking analytics or affiliate cookies won’t stop you from reading anything.

Services that receive data

We share data only with the services that run the site.

ServiceWhat it receivesWhy
Web hostServer logs, including IP addressesHosting the site
Analytics providerAnonymized usage dataLearning which guides get read
AmazonA cookie recording your click from this siteCrediting a referral if you buy
Email providerYour address and your messageHandling mail you send us
Google FontsYour IP address when the heading font loadsDisplaying the site’s heading typeface

Each service handles data under its own privacy policy. When we add a service, we’ll add it to this table.

We give information to authorities only when the law requires it.

How long we keep data

Server logs: 90 days.

Analytics: 26 months, so we can compare one season’s reading with the next.

Emails: As long as we need to deal with your message, and never more than 24 months.

Comments: As long as the comment stays published. Ask, and we’ll remove yours.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

  • Tell you what we hold about you
  • Send you a copy
  • Correct anything that’s wrong
  • Delete it
  • Stop using it for analytics

Email contact@fruitfarming.org with “Privacy request” in the subject line. We’ll reply within 30 days at no charge. We may ask you to confirm you control the email address involved, so nobody else can request your data.

If you’re in the EEA or UK

We rely on two legal bases. Legitimate interest covers server logs and analytics, which we need to run and improve the site. Consent covers non-essential cookies, where the law requires it.

You can complain to your local data protection authority, though we’d like the chance to fix the problem first. Some of our services store data outside your country under recognized safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses.

If you’re in California

We don’t sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can ask to know, correct, or delete what we hold, and you won’t be treated differently for asking. Use the same email address.

Children

The site is written for adults and isn’t aimed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect their personal information.

Plenty of young people grow fruit through 4-H, FFA, and school gardens, and they’re welcome to read the guides. If a child under 13 has sent us personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Guides mention government agencies, universities, manufacturers, and retailers. Their sites have their own privacy policies, and ours stops applying once you leave this site.

Security

The site uses HTTPS, so information moving between your browser and our server is encrypted. Access to our systems is limited and password protected.

No system is perfectly secure. If a problem affects readers’ data, we’ll tell them promptly.

Do Not Track

There’s no agreed standard for Do Not Track signals, so the site doesn’t respond to them. Your browser’s cookie settings give you more control.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes too. Major changes get a notice on the site. Using the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
